My great great grandfather, August Pardeike, served in the Prussian Army before immigrating to the US in 1872. Here is one of my most treasured items - a military photo of him from Prussia from the late 1860s/early 1870s. Family lore says that one of my relatives still possesses his army sword, but I have never seen it. I would love to get my hands on THAT treasure box!
