Follow Friday: Funeral Cards & Genealogy

I just found the Funeral Cards & Genealogy blog and am very intrigued! I have found a few funeral cards for my ancestors and they are some of my favorite items. So sad, so sacred, trying to convey hope and comfort but they seem to hold onto the pain of the loved ones left behind. You can almost feel the grief seeping out of them when you hold them in your hand.

This prayer card to my husband's great great grandmother Maggie Mullarkey, a mother who died leaving 8 children under the age of 11 is the most poignant and touching one I've found. I will be interested to see more on the Funeral Cards blog!

Thanks for sharing!
Welcome to the Geneabloggers family. Hope you find the association fruitful; I sure do. I have found it most stimulating, especially some of the Daily Themes.

May you keep sharing your ancestor stories!
