Throw my books in the lake. I'm going to play football!

The above was a quote from my great grandfather, Loren "Teany" Randall, from his high school yearbook. And play football he did - as an All-American for the Georgia Bulldogs in the mid 1920s. I am struck by how tall and handsome he was, how much he was involved in, and how apparent his dislike for schoolwork was! I so wish I could have met this man, who is described by my family as a warm and caring man who was always full of music and laughter.

I enjoyed seeing the faces, fashions, and sense of humor of the New Albany, Indiana class of 1920 and feel like I know my great grandfather a little better after getting a glimpse into his high school days.
